Range Description: This species occurs in the Pacific coast of western Colombia in the Chocó region, from close to the Ecuador border, north to the lower Magdalena River basin in Colombia, and east to the Maracaibo Lake basin (Zulia State), Falcón State, and Andes (Barinas and Táchira states) in Venezuela. It ranges from sea level up to 1,040 m asl.
