DISTRIBUTION: Oxybelis aeneus occurs at low to moderate and occasionally higher elevations throughout most of the Neotropical Region, from southern Arizona, south along the eastern and western coasts of Mexico, across the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, throughout most of Central America and into South America. There it ranges west of the Andes south to northern Peru, into the valleys of the Cauca and Magdalena Rivers of Colombia, and throughout most of northern South America from the eastern slopes of the Andes to the Atlantic coast……
