Range Description: This species occurs on the Atlantic slope from southern Veracruz and through the base of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, southward to northwestern Venezuela, and on the Pacific slope from Honduras to Ecuador. In Mexico, it occurs at elevations of 200 to 1,100 m asl.; in Central America, the elevational range extends from sea level to 1,930 m (McCranie 2011). In Colombia, this species occurs at elevations up to 2,800 m in the department of Antioquia. In Venezuela, the species occurs in foothills from 4001,500 m (Navarrete et al. 2005).
